I just got a parts washer & I am wondering what you guys use in yours. I would like to use some thing that will not eat paint if possible. I appericate any input.

Do you know if it will eat paint off? What is UAP, Advance Auto Parts? Thanks for the help.

we put diesel fuel in our parts cleaner and it works great.

K1 kerosene is very effective and doesnt cost much, unless its really fresh paint its usually ok in K1

yep we use kerosene too, only time i've ever had it eat paint is when the paint was already in bad shape, otherwise never had a problem

Right on. I appericate everyone's help. I may have to get some kerosene tomorrow on the way home. About what does it cose a gal?

Why not just buy plain ole solvent. I'm not sure the technical name. Here we buy it at the local co-op station. Costs about $3.50 per gallon I think.

We use mineral spirits in our wash vat, and "Purple Power" degreaser in a bottle for the bigger stuff.

I have never heard of Varsol. I looked it up it seems like good stuff. Do you know how much it is & where to get it? Ah mineral spirits I didn't even think of that. One other guy told me to go to the co-op too and get some cleaner. I appericate everone's help.

Normally pretty cheap can pick it up at the hardware/automotive store normally.
