busted axle end

My 200x axle has list the end that the split pin goes through , it was like that when I got it , it dosent have a "castle" nut on it anymore just a normal nut so I was wondering what I could do as the nut comes loose over time. I can put another nut on to lock against the existing one as there isnt enough thread left...
I know I should try to get another axle but a quick fix for now would do until summer and the warmer weather.

You could try some red loctite... but i am not sure how well that would hold on an axle situation..

Put the wheel on.. tighten the nut to spec.. and mark it with a sharpie... remove the nut and wheel.. put the nut back on the axle to the marks.. and punch then drill a new hole thru the nut and axle with a small drill bit.. ( will not be easy.. but should be possible.. ) put it all back together and top a nail thru the hole and bend both ends.
