Man this sux. Its so bad I cant put the Top Mount on. No threads. They are in correct. I even used the Bar of My Jack to Pound Down the Bearing. No luck. Im pissed, nothing ever works for me and I hear dudes riding up the Trail.
Any other ideas?

I think you might be better off with a kit from Honda. That is if they make them still. Or complain to moose that there bearing kit doesnt fit. Something is definately wrong if it doesnt fit.

Same thing happened on my 350x only it was the top race. It lacked about .125 of an inch and that translates to trouble when you get ready to tighten the stem nut. i had to use the Honda OEM top set up and the moose bottom. I tried to press mine in with a 6 ton press, and it didn't move.

Yea I tightened it down but im afraid I will ruin the threads on the new forks I got. What a bunch of BS forsomething so simple. Im calling Dennis Kirk tomorrow and Moose and gonna complain. This shouldnt happen.

Yeah, same thing happened on my 200s. The top nut barely went on. The bearing has yet to settle in but I havent't had any problems.

Wow you guys have had a lot of problems with bearing. I was riding my 125 and noticed that it needs new front wheel bearing. What company has someone had good luck with? Sorry to hear your bearings didn't work. That is some thing that would happen to me.

Not being a wise guy or anything, But did you remove the old race? It's simple things that can cause the most greaf.

You meen the Area the Bearing sits in? None of the Original parts fit with these new bearings so I left it all out. I didnt remove anything on the Neck, framewise. It doesnt even sit there good. Who knows, I threw a tarp over it and there it will sit till spring. I was gonna shoot it but I got ahold of myself. This crap allways happens to me. I dont have a single rideable trike and there 4 here. Because of crap like this.

The little plate that the OEM ball bearing sit on in the neck will come out. Those are the races for the OEM bearings. Take a rod or a long punch and tap them out and see how the kit fits. If you have done this already then ignore this reply. ;)

If you need pictures let me know. I have ajunk frame that I can pop the races out of. This whould show you what it should look like before you put the new kit in it.

P.S. Here is a picture of the assembly. Part Number 1 is the part I am talking about. There is one in the top and one in the bottom in the neck of the frame.

Yea I thought it was Part # 3 and 4 that I thoughtr you were talking about. It says in the Manual to knock out the Bearing Races. The only things I see Is where the Bearings sit inside the Frame at the Stem. If I knock them out I dont see what will keep my bearings in one area.
The Manual says 3 and 4 are Cone Races. The bottom one I couldnt get off and the Top one I couldnt use.
It looks like in the Manual it say to take out the BALL Races which are part 1 on your diagram. Are those in the Neck itself and I just Punch them out of the Frame Stem? If I do what keeps the bearings in place? Thx I think you are correct but I must have my hand held.:banned:
As this is the 1st time for the Honda and Im confused a bit.
The Race on the Fork at the Bottom is on and if there are races in the frame they are on. What shall I do, Master:wondering

Pop out the Ball races in the Stem?
Only parts on Forks are 4,5,and 6

your kit should have come with 2 tapered bearings and 2 races. if you have a set of measuring calipers, measure the inside of both bearings. the bigger one goes on the bottom of the stem. the old bearings races in the neck need to be knocked out and the new races tapped in. if they feel like they are hanging up on something, take some emry(sp) cloth and clean the neck race up. feel for burs or any imperfections in the neck. once that is done the new race should go in real easy.

I know on my '81R I had the have the bottom bearing pressed onto the stem and when the new race was in the neck I had to slide the stem through the neck and finish tapping the bottom race in before the threads where far enough through to use.

I didnt use a moose bearing kit, mine was an all balls kit.

Ugh, I just bought a moose kit for my '83 200X. Any one have problems with this too? (sorry for intercepting your thread, but I don't want to open the kit and then have trouble sending it back)

Ok there are 2 as you described and they are different sizes. I need to pop the Races out of the frame and Install the new ones. The bearing is the part that wont go all the way down. Thx for the info
