Well I got a new toy.:p Some of you may have seen my post a week ago about a 87 250SX I found. Well I got her home today. Man did I get a deal. Shes in pretty good overall shape. Runs like a champ. Header has a couple of pin holes in it causing a exhaust leak. Other than the brakes its great Mechanically. The plastic needs help. Its all there but weathered pretty bad. Seats in good shape. The rear of this thing is quite a bit different than my 85SX. Beefyer looking. Rides much smoother. Forks and Handlebars are straight. Electric start works like a charm. No dents or dings in the tank. Im am a happy camper. This is the nicest project bike I have started with. Shouldnt take much CLAY MAGIC and she will look new.:naughty:

Looks super nice dude! What size of rims are in the rear? They look to be 10-11" rims. The rear brake also doesnt stick inside of the rim.....is there spacers on it or is that the way its set up?

Well the tires are practically new 22x10x10's I dont know if its stock or not. Looks good. Same tire height. Same color rims as the front rim. Got me stumped. Looks cool though. I like it. I dont know about the spacer thing. Havent looked, but they stick out equally on each side.

Clay.... got your message.... nice SX! Now what were you surprised by... the rear end? Or the steering/helmet lock?

Yeah all that and the beefy bracing on the frame. The rear wheels are kinda cool looking. Just the nice touches that they gave it.

I will have to check it out and take some pics. I will post them ASAP. It got dark on me pretty quick tonight. Couldnt take it in too much. With new plastic the thing will look real nice. Cant weight. Im going to sell the stock 87 plastic on Ebay. Its a little rough for my taste.

Does the 87 SX have a red or white headlight shroud? In the brochure it's red. Just wondering, calling about one tomorrow.

Well it just depends. Some of the euro models had the white and even a few in the states. I remember my honda dealer had one of both cuz I thought one was last years model and they told me it wasnt.
The tank sticker is also a way to tell its an 87 cuz it has a red stripe instead of blue.

The 87 I had and a couple others I have seen had the White Shroud.
