I spent 3 and a half hours doing this! I'm really slow, I only got one half done too. hopefully it will give me at least a fraction of a pony;)
I started wet sanding at 600 grit, but then I found out that there was pitting all over it, so I had to go right down to 220 and then 260, 320, 360, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, and finally 2000.

So, you think it was worth it?

I might take some Mothers aluminum polish to finish it right up.

Looks alot better than it did,I would use a air tool though for the ruff stuff.(my fingers hurt) suck it up and get started on the other side lol! just think your half way done!!

It speeds up airflow in the crank case, When its all rough, the air flow gets slowed down (I'm not sure if this is 100% right but thats what I take of it). I emailed YAMAHONDAMAN about it, and he says its definatly a good thing to do for more power...He gave me a few pointers too of what else to do ;)

I just started with the mothers aluminum polish and its starting to look like a mirror :)

this took me 4 hours, so 4 hours X 60 per hour = $240/side X2 = $480 total +shipping

Is that a fair price:lol:
