Ok. I'm sorry about all the posts lately, but whenever I get a question answered, another one pops into my head. Here are a few that I've been wodering..

I'm paying $75 plus shipping both ways to get my axle, swinger, and gas tank powdered.. is that a good deal? Seeing as noone around here will powder my tank, I thought it was but I'm not sure. How much would the shipping be for a box that contained a swinger, tank, and axle??

Ok.. and I'm trying to get someone local to do my frame. How much do you think it would cost me to get a frame powdered red? I called 2 times this week trying to get a quote and the guy that gives quotes is sick at the moment, so I won't be able to get a price until tomorrow or Friday.. so what do you think the average price for powdering a frame would be?

Has anyone ever ordered a skidplate off of PRM-ATV? One of the 350X ones that is $99.95? How much was shipping on that?

And lastly, if powder coating ended up being too costly for me, how well would Krylon Fusion hold up on a frame? I want something that won't chip easily, but the X probly isn't going to get much hard riding so it really won't matter. Would it work good? Or is there another kind of paint that works better?

Oh.. well I guess this is the last one.. lol. Would you rather have a PRM swinger skidplate and an aftermarket exhaust, or a powdercoated frame? At the moment I have about $200 dollars left to spend, and I was thinking that if I couldn't afford to powder coat, I would spray paint it and get a swinger skidplate and aftermarket exhaust.. but which would you guys rather have?
I thought powdered frame because I can put the skidplate and exhaust on at any time.. but.. I don't know.

What do you think??

Dont know cost on anything but I would agree with you to get the frame powdered and do the rest as you can afford it...

It all depends are where your shipping the parts to. I just shipped a package with a rear axle, 2 rims, and a brake disk ( YTM225 ) to PA for around $21. The package weight was 38.2 lbs.

I'm only shipping them to NH. And it's definately going to weigh less than 38 lbs!! I'd guess around 25..

Which would you guys use for a throttle.. twist or thumb? The X I bought has a brand new twist throttle coming with it, but I'm not sure which I should use? Would twist be easier to use than the thumb throttle?

that depends on preferance. Ever driven a motor cycle or dirtbike? I personally hate twist but some guy love them.

I tryed a twist on my 200x and I liked it,but I do like dirtbikes so that may have changed my opinion,I say try a twist and see what you think...you could resell it if you dont like it....

Well... I would put the swinger and axle in one box, and the gas tank in another.

Just an opinion on the throttle, I would start with the thumb, and get used to the power of the x, otherwise you could get into trouble with the twist especially i you are not really used to using them, ever do a wheelie and start to slide off(pulls the throttle more)

i wouldnt use krylon fusion on your frame cause thats made for painting plastic .... id find a high quality spray paint or even automotive paint for the frame

skid plate and exhaust. The frame can wait because if you hit a rock with your engine your powercoat wont seem so nice when you cant ride the bike.

Well I decided that if I cut a few expenses (like getting new plastics because the ones that are on it only have a crack), I can get the swinger skidplate, a case saver, and get it powdercoated as long as the powdercoating job is only around $150. The exhaust can wait.

I just paid $300 to powdercoat my 85 R frame, sandblasted & primer included.
Gloss black, nothing crazy, i thought it would be cheaper, but i did get it back in 3 days.
twist or thumb, you really got to try both to see what you prefer. mine changes between trikes. I sit "in" my R, while my brothers 350x I feel like I sit "on top" of. the r= twist, x= thumb. just my opinion.
