I'm in need of another racing axle for a 500cc trike oem axle is not available and need too purchase a aftermaket axle too complete this project. I was wondering which is better dura blue or lonestar ? I will be buying all hubs and all for this chromed axle and don't want too waste money on a axle that can't take the torque. :wondering thanks Dale

I've had two Durablue axles and had no problems. I know some people call them Durabends, but neither one of mine has done anything for me to question their strength.

was thinking the 450r axle should be large enough too handle the 500cc 2 stroke

what carrier are you planning to use? i would talk to durablue and see what they have that may work. either brand is more then enough to handle the torque and day to day riding.

I think almost any axle will be able to hold up to the torque of the engine as long as the splines on the axle and the hub are in good shape. I've actually got a 200x axle in my 500R and they're not exactly known to be the beefiest of axles

If you want the best of the best axle wise, RPM Dominators are the way to go. A Durablue, LSR, or heck even one of them "cheapo" $200 G-force axles would be plenty though.

SpeedBump and I both just bought the DuraBlue X-33 axle assembly. Let me tell you, it doesn't get any beefier than that!

Almost identical to the rear axle in your race trike. Very nice.

I was looking at those x-33 and thought that was as close as i could get far as a match will most likely go that way

Motor torque isnt likely to cause axle problems with any machine. Its landing from megajumps that kill them. I doubt that will be problem for you. Most of the aftermarket ones dont bend, but snap, because they are usually made of a harder steel. As I said, unless youve recently developed a love of supercross megajumps, any of them will hold up fine, but Durablue is probably the least strong of those mentioned. Youll also find that a lot of them carry a very long warranty.

Or if a flying Honda lands on you!
