whats an 85 tecate worth??

this guy is trying to sell me this 85 tecate. he wanted 1500 then he went down to under 900 in a half an hour. :eek: whats a resonable price for it? he says it starts in one kick, new carb and silencer. no cracks in fenders. thanks

I am buying a nice 85 from a friend soon for $500, but it needs a new water pump. I am guessing $800-$1200 for a nice machine is fair for both parties.

what year RM80 are you going to swap it for? $900 sounds like a really good price to me. Especially considering the condition it seems to be in. Is it stolen........ That would explain the sudden price drop.

Well, it runs so that throws out the stator and flywheel problem. Looks to be mostly original from what I can see. I have an easy 900 in mine and it is still not done. Or does it have OEM plastic on it! I would say it is a good price.

I don't know if i've ever seen an early tecte on ebay bring that much. I think they're pretty comparable to the air R's. $700 seems fair.

upper value is around what he was asking 900 bucks. But if you clean it up and have it looking very nice it could fetch around a grand on e-bay. Sometimes they sell for close to nothing but sometimes they go sky high on e-bay. That is about the only good way to sell one and make some money. All depends on how bad someone wants it.

I agree with 90nut, they dont really pull much money. I saw a very very nice one go on these boards for $500 last year with extra OEM parts. I saw it in person too so i know exactly what condition it was in.

I would give more than that for that t3. I have wanted a Tecate for a long time, so I would give more than that for one. They are getting harder and harder to find, grab it while you can.

i went through all the tecate pics and readers rides and couldn't find it. if you happen to see it again let me know. the pictures are scanned, and i haven't seen it in person yet.

Go see it in person because I've seen that first pic before. Ugly trikes but you'll be hard pressed to find another arm puller like it. Besides, some mods and they turn sexy real quick.

That is exactly like the one I just sold awhile back for $1500.00 but mine had a bunch of add on's and was a little bit nicer....offer him $750 for it and you most likely will ride it home...
