Hey fellas,

Perhaps this is a dumb question, but I have Wiseco rings and I noticed the middle and top rings are different thickness. Which one goes where? I rolled each ring around the ring grooves, and I am pretty sure that both ring grooves are the same.

Which ring goes in the top groove? The thicker or thinner one?

The only other thing that tells the rings apart is one is a brownish color, and the other is shiny.

Any help?

Thanks,

dvalley

The shiny thin one goes on top, also if there is a bevel on one ring side make sure it goes toward the top of the piston.

This 2 or 4 stroke piston? normally chrom ring on top, Absoultly make sure that the numbers by the end gaps's are facing to the top of the piston, and Make sure you gap them Right. if you dont know how just ask. i have seen SOOO man motors Seized and blown up (espesially Wiseco Pistons becuse they expand more with heat) becuse guy's did not gap the rings properly.

OK - Thanks guys. I am pretty sure I have the thinner one in the top groove. BUT, what if I don't. What will happen. And this is a 4 stroke.

I am just curious....

Thanks again,
