I'm curious to know what the best carb options are for a 350x... What I've got is a 400ex carb that I can't get jetted... I see some that have the FCM carbs, but I'm on a budget, which is why I'm using a 400ex carb.... but since I can't get it jetted correctly, I need some advising on what jetting would be best...
Any ideas....

im going to look into the 400ex carb option for my 350x....as for results I cant help you yet...I was just thinking that since the x carb stock is only a 34mm that you wouldnt want to go a whole lot bigger...thats why the ex carb seems like a good upgrade to me and the fact that it is cheap too

Yep... I'm all about cheap....
From what I was told, and please correct me if I'm wrong...
350x carb
main jet 145
idle jet 38
400ex carb
main 148
idle 45
I've got a stock motor, but I've got the Powroll exhaust and racing megaphone pipe, so I know the need for some tweaking is needed, but I'm not sure where to start...
Using the 145 main and 38 idle, it runs, but is either choking for air or gas... I'm not sure which... I'm thinking the idle jet should start coming up, but I'm no carb expert...
Thanks though....
Pics coming soon.....:beer

Jetting sounds to be about right. Have you plugchoped? Have you adjusted the needle to try and make it run better? What part of your power delivery is it crapping out? I have them on 2 bikes, but neather are even close to stock.

Per my 350X manual stock jetting is:
Main Jet = #138
Slow Jet = #45
Based on your pipe, you might need to go one bigger than stock. I think the 148 in the 400ex carb is way too big. I would try a 140.

thanks for that... i'll do some plug chops and check the needle and report back any success stories, or humbly ask for more suggestions...
