Well I put some new tires on the DX today and took it out of the garage and down the street for the 1st time. This was also my first ride on a 3 Wheeler!

I have a question about the clutch feel on this thing. This is my first experience with an auto clutch. How is it supposed to feel? I am used to a regular manual clutch on my CR125, but this seems like it is slipping.

Heres how it goes. I put it into 1st and gas it. Seems to move alright. Then when I shift into 2nd it seems like it revs a bit before it settles into gear. Is that normal?

There is an adjustment for clutch engagment, but I just wanted some info before I messed around with that.

Thanks

There is a clutch adjustment screw on the side of the motor..Try that first.

Your clutch sounds like its slipping a bit. The adjustment is real simple. on the right side case, undo the locknut, then turn the screw in until it lightly seats, then back it off an 1/8 turn. Tighten the locknut.

If it still slips, your friction plates may be worn.

Thanks,

I'll try the clutch adjustment tommorow AM. Here's another thing, and I'm afraid it might open up a can of worms on the subject, but when I changed the oil I used Mobil1 synthetic. Now I have heard all the arguments for and against about slippage, but really could it happen.

My friend, who I trust, and is very knowegable with motocross bikes has always used Mobil1 in his gearbox. He has never had a problem with slippage.

I THINK Mobil1 is safe with a wet clutch. But if your friend uses it, its likely ok. Just make sure its safe with wet clutches.
