polishing a gas cap?????

I was wanting to polish my gas cap on my 200x I have never done it before. Do you use sand paper?? What can I buy?? Is it easy??

Gas caps on the 200X and 350X are anodized black; which means that they are not painted, but instead etched with a black color that eats down into the metal for a superior protection. The down side is that you can't change the color without a lot of work. It will require that you sand off all of the anodizing to begin with. I would suggest having it powdercoated or reanodized if it needs it, otherwise, a lot of work will be needed.
