Hey,
I have a question about the interchangability of the sterring shafts between the 85 trx 125 and the 87-88 Fourtrax 125. Will they inter change?
The deal is on my older son's 88 the steering stem and assembly is shot.

I just picked up a near perfect 85 trx 125 for 50$ from an elderly lady. Took it home changed the plug and it ran perfect. That will go to my younger son. I will then take the other 85 we have and use it for parts, since the motor came in a box, and there are other parts missing. And I'm needing other parts for the 88 as well. I know these other parts will work, just not sure on the steering stem and shaft assembly, going from the 85 to the 88.

Thank you far all your help.

John

I would imagine they will interchange, if they did anything like they did with the trx 250r. The stems are all interchangable on the 250r. I have a 86trx 125 and I put a stem in that but I can't remember what year bike it came out of.

I'm thinking the steering shafts are different. I sold the 85 I had, so I can't compare them. I do know the 87 and 88's are the same. The 87 I have may be parted out in the future. I had intentions of fixing it up for the kids, but I am going to use a few parts on our 88 TRX125 "The Wrecker".

that is a nice bike mz grandfather has one that we ride around his acres of land down in southern Illinios its a awsome little bike with lots of potential. Also thez are very good on upkeep it is riden every year by me only basically and we onlz hcanged the oil and pulg 1 time in 5 years!! Dont get rid of it zour son will have a fun time on this bike just watch out for the revrse these bikes were known for having the lever on the brake to stick causing the bike to be thrown into revrse and this would be bad if on a steep hill like i was lol... ---Joe---
