I have an 05 450r. Whenever I bought it new, it would always take about 3 kicks to get it running. Then I put on a high flow exhaust tip. After this, starting was a 1 kick procedure. I rode it several times like this and it always started on 1 kick. Then, I bought a swingarm skidplate. So, to make it easier to install, I stood the bike up on its grab bar. I installed the skid plate and set the bike down. I forgot to turn off the gas! Gas ran out of the airbox. I removed the seat, opened the airbox and dried the air filter. I put the bike back together and tried to start it. I bet I kicked it 25 times before it started. No big deal, I just figured I either flooded it or drained all of the gas from the carb. I finally got it running and rode it awhile. I started it and rode it around probably 3 times after that. Every cold start it took about 8 kicks to start it. What did I do to make the bike hard to start? I don't think it's a valve adjustment issue, because it only has about 3 hours on it. Can you guys help me out here? What should I check? Thanks a lot.
