I was wondering if anybody here knows the chain size on a Polaris Cyclone 250X. I was riding along today and my just broke with a loud BANG and I have no clue how to measure a chain. thanks.

CHAIN-520 ORD4,O-RING,78 PITCH that is what is says on bikebandit for an 87 cyclone.
I assume that means a 520 oring chain with 78 pins or 78 links. Maybe someone else will help you out. They are 62.99 on bikebandit.com Youll find a better price on rockymountainatv or denniskirk

i still dont know what 78 pitch means. You should go out to the bike and count the number of pins, and the number of links to get a definite answer. If you dont have a chain at all, get an 120 link chain. You can get a primary drive 120 link 520 chain for 30.40 US at rockymountainatv.com, and just get a chain breaking tool or if you have one, cut it down to the correct length

Ok,thank you again and I counted the links and there are 39 link, 39(links)x2(piches per link)=78(pitches), so those little rivvits holding the chain together must be the piches.

Yeah. 78 pitch doesn't mean the number of links as far as I know. I think that it means the distance between the links.. like where the "prongs" on the sprocket go into.
I would go with a 110 or 120 link chain and cut it down. You don't have to have a cutting tool.. you can just use a dremel with a grinder to cut the end off of the little pin, and then push it apart. Make sure you don't cut it too short, though!
