Finally got Er done. I cut the shallow side out of two banshee rear wheels & welded them together to make a 10" front. I did'nt think my tire would be here until monday. But it came in yesterday. :w00t:

Good idea for making the rim! And you made a very good choice on the tire.. Kenda Front Max.

3leggeddog, Other than one half of the wheel flying out of the lath, it was simple. My buddy cut the weld in the center of the wheel with bolts through the stud holes so it would not come apart once it was cut through. Once he had them split he was trying to true up the center & it came flying out of the chuck and almost took out the lights over the lath. The wheels are the real thin one's so he could'nt grab it real tight. It scared the hell out of both of us, it almost hit the ceiling :wondering.
Aussie, Yes the 80-R will be at trikefest for sure. I am counting the days :beer. I can't wait to meet you. I felt kinda out of place last year, cause I did'nt know any of you guys. This year should be a blast for me, getting to hang out with other 3 wheeler nuts like myself. :w00t:

nouseforaname90, Hell yea I love the Kenda front max. It's the best tire I ever had on a 3 wheeler.

So have you done the rear shock swap yet, I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished product next to the full sized 250r, your last photo had the 11" rim and standard rear shock still in it. Have you changed the seat height to foot peg relationship or is that standard?
About the tyre, Do they still make Kenda front max in 11" to suit a full size sport Trike.

I am working on the shock I should have it together this week & put back on this weekend. I talked with Derrick Adams & he suggested lowering & narrowing the seat, he is full of good Ideas. I will put some lower bars on It also. I havent moved the foot pegs at all. They do still make the front max for a 11" wheel.

Not sure anymore, but when I asked last year, I believe it was douglas wheel that told me they could make me a 10" front for my 86. I never did it because I was not sure the caliper would clear. Now that I see that it is close, but will clear, I may have to check back with them. I am pretty sure it was Douglas, though it may have been ITP. Having a 10" rim opens up more tire choices, which is nice.
