I found what I thought was a all original 1986 225 low hr machine in the local swap & trade . The guy told me it was in excellent all original shape/ nice plastic tires small tear in seat and only needs battery. I asked him 4 times to email me some pics so I wouldn't have to travel 3hrs one way just to see this trike. He finally got his wife to send me a pic. Glad she did. This saved me what would have been a wasted trip. I like it when you get a salesmen trying to sell you something they really don't know what they're talking about. What do you all think. He was asking $350. Was he off alittle on the desription or what??

In the past several years I've made many trips to check out bikes, trikes, etc. Many times it's been a waste. I love the way some people talk their junk up like it's something special, then you get there and you wonder if the guy was talking about the same machine. I asked a guy one time if the bike burned any oil. He said no. I got there, he started it up, and it burned oil so bad you couldn't see your hand in front of your face! You really gotta read between the lines. I've found that "all original" usually means just that- nothing's ever been done to it, no cleaning, no maintenance, no replacing of worn or broken parts. That don't look bad for $350 though.

When I hear about a low hour machine I expect to see something that was ridden very little, looked after and in close to MINT shape. Have you seen some of the brand new 200X's that have been posted? They're not something that looks like its been stored outside and not maintained.

First of all, gas tank covers are missing, plastic has some fading and definately light scratching, wrong OEM tires , nice extended reverse lever though. I was looking for a clean ,excellent all origianl shape low hr machine. Of course, I should of known better when I see the asking price. Oh well.

Your right about the"all original" statement GrundelGrabber. The pics are not too clear so that only hides the blemishes better.

looks more like a suicide shift lever to me instead of a pullstarter. looks worth 350 if you can hear it run and maybe test her out before shelling out the cash for it.

Kinda like the local guy that listed an 85 200x for sale no motor $250. I called him and he said its really nice plastic is in great shape, good tires, just needed a motor.
I went and looked plastics were destroyed with huge chunks missing, wiring was ripped to *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited*, no headlight, no throttle, no brake levers, bent rear axel(visibly) and flat tires. Real good condition.

im talking about the pull start not the extended shifter, anyways the one you see in my sig is an 225dx, i bought it for 100$. when i got it it dident run but i knew i could get it to run, it has water in the motor missing front and side plastics, back plastic looked like crap with black chipping paint. the triple trees were bend and missint bolt and he used a big huge bolt to go threw the whole stem it was all ghetto. it was missing the head light and shroud. the back tires were balder then uncle jimmy. no battery and electric start dident work. seat is ripped and grips were gooy. anyways what im trying to say is thats a good deal if it runs and goes. but look at what 200$ and some tlc got my 225dx to. Dosent look to bad. And if it runs, 350 sounds like a deal to me.
