Well I was riding down the road to the lake and found this thing. Man I guess im the luckiest guy around. Alaways finding stuff. Well its a 1986 Yamaha BW350. I saw it on the way to the lake. It was out in front of a house for sale. So, I stopped and wated to just see what was there. I checked it out and it needed quite a bit so I was thinking man. This thing needs a load of work. Well the guy practically gave it to me. I was shocked. Anyway heres the pics. I dont know what im going to do with it. Restore it, or part it out. What do you guys think? It needs a lot, but there are a lot of good hard to find parts on it.:beer

Thats cool, I would keep it, fix it up enough to ride it.
Does the frame not support the bottom of the motor? Doesnt look like it from the pics...

Yeah, Its kinda cool. The frame doesnt go around the bottom of the motor. Its got a couple mounts that are up on the top. The other pics of nice ones are set up the same way. It would make you sick if I told you what I paid.

HAHA I'd keep that sucker and try to fix it up. I've wanted something like that ever since I saw my first Fat Cat 200.

Yeah, the BIG problem is that its going to need a wireing harness. The original was melted somehow. It has some Hodge podge wiring job on it. Doesnt work. CDI may or may not work. Not sure.

I was just thinking about the BW350 when I was organizing my old Dirt Wheel/3Wheeling/3&4 Wheel Action mags.... I wonder if that motor would fit into a Tri-Moto frame?

Hey Bruce. Been a long time. Need to answer that Phone sometime.:D I dont know if it would fit or not. Im at a loss on which way to go with it. I might be willing to trade for something else. Bike, parts, etc... Dont know. If the harness wasnt bad I would be REALLY excited about it. I think it may be tought to find a good harness.

That is not a bw 350 , it is a bw 200 ,1985 bw 200 kick start only , 1986-88 electric start and kick , i have all three yamaha bigwheels motorcycles , 80 , 200 , and the 350 .

Well, it has electric start, and it still has the factory decal on the steering stem that says 1986. Here is a pic of the starter, battery box, and starter button. ???

keep it. I bet warrior wiring harness would be really close if not perfect. I'd love to have one of those
Didn't the BW350's have a mono-shock frame? That looks like a 200 to me too.
Still a cool thing to find like that! :beer

The difference between a bw 200 and a bw 350 is the rear swingarm with out knowing what size the engine is , the bw 200 has 2 each rear shocks , and the bw 350 has only one rear shock .
