These are the pics of the 185s ... what there is of it anyways. The motor seems to be a 200... it says 192 at the base of the cylinder. The wheels have 3 lugs?? The pics I have seen of the 185 show four lugs. Any help figuring out whats what would be appreciated. Hope these pics post ok, this is my first shot at it... with plenty of help from my extremely patient wife... of course. ;)

1983 185s with 200 engine, or older 185s with newer front end added. Not sure about the hubs though, can't remember what years had 3 or 4 lugs.

Yeah it's a 1983 Honda atc 185s. The 200cc engine (and piston cyl) is bolt in without mods so it is not too much of a surprise that somewhere down the line someone had the trike apart. As for the 3 bolt wheels they look like they are from another Honda, there are a lot of other models that have the same axel splines as the 185s. Frame and related parts look like 185s stuff, the front forks show that it is an 83 as the earlier 185 models didn't have front suspension.

I don't know if the 81s' had 3 lugs or not, but that is an 81 engine due to the fact that it has the manual decompression. My 82 has decompression in the pullstart and 4 lug rims. Front end has been changed, possibly cylinder has been changed with a 200, it is a bolt on operation. Have you looked at the engine number or the vin number off the frame, it could clear up alot of questions.

my 80 185 has the same foot peg style, that is another front end though. My 80 185 also has 3 lugs on the back, those 3 lugs were 2 piece rims I think.

it has Yamaha 200 or 225 dx rear rims and hubs on the back.

The yamaha rims were a common mod as they are 1 piece and not prone to leaking like the 2 piece hondas. List the engine number to see if the year can be identified by the number.

I have a 1981 185s and it has a stock 3 lug hub on the back. 2-piece rims.

My old 82 185's looked almost the same as that one but it didn't have front suspension.

83 was the first year for front suspension on the 185! I'd say it's an 83 ATC185 with different hubs and wheels. Everything else looks stock for a 1983.

Just wanted to say thanks to all here for their help. I guess for my first trike its kinda lame.... but if i can bring it back to life there will be one more three wheeler in the world. I have a few honda manuals on the way, that should help. My guess is that this was a "neighborhood bike"..... lots of owners and lots of mods from all of 'em. First chance i get I will post the motor serial number, maybe that would help... by the way, my wife said "wouldn't it just be cheaper and easier to buy one thats already running?" ...... shes cute but.... she just doesn't get it. :naughty:
