Okay fellas, my neighbour/bud just picked up an 05 660 Raptor and isn't happy with how quiet it is. Been looking at slip-ons for him but their all out of his price range at the moment.
See a few custom exhaust tips on ebay that basicly replace the baffle. The baffle is removeable on the stock exhaust? Need to rejet after that? Thats all I need to know, he'd be happy with a removed baffle until he gets a good exhaust. Searched Bluetraxx but haven't got the answer.

Buddy of mine removed the baffle on his 03 raptor. It has a nice rumble to it. He did rejet but I don't think he would have had to. I know it has 2 carbs one has a smaller main then the other. He took the larger main jet and switched it to the other carb and bought one size bigger for that carb. He doesn't have any airbox mods.

for just removing the baffle i wouldnt worry about it too much, take off the airbox lid then yes, definately rejet.
I would check the jetting after, Yamaha's come real Lean from the factory even with the stock Pipe ect the Generally have to be rejetted to get the best performance out of them.

Thats my mindset about it MTS, I'd hate to see him lose a motor for the sake of a baffle.

The baffle was out of my 01 and had been for some time when i bought it. Never really seemed to hurt anything. Doesnt Yamahondaman make an endcap for it? Might be the 700 i am not real sure.
