I just picked this today. I won it off ebay fr 300 bucks. I am going to replace the tank, paint the yellow parts red again, and put on a new sticket kit. She should be ready to go then. The motor had never been rebuilt, and it has the stock tires. The plastics and seat are in great shape, no cracks what so ever. Also no smoke or leaks. One question, what spark plug does it take? Let me know what you guys think.

I have it almost completly disassembled. I am painting the forks right now. I just have to take the rear end of, and I will be painting the frame next.

You can't hear it run yet, it is torn apart for painting. I finished painting the forks, frame, and wheels. Here is a pic of the frame. Also I ordered a new tank and decal kit.

It's unreal how simple these things are. I had it torn apart and painted in 4 hours. Its a nice change of pace compared to my 200x.

Does anyone know how to identify what year this trike is?

There should be a sticker somewhere on the frame stating the year and modle etc. Looks like a awsome project can't wait till its done!

Yeah, whoever painted it did a good job. I believe it was stripped to the frame before painting it yellow. I sanded some chipped spots to the bare metal and there was no red paint under the yellow. Also no stickers to find the year. I think it is a 80, because it has a black honda plate on the front, and a 3 speed tranny like the 80 model. I will post more pics soon. When finished, I will have about 400 in it, and it should be quite nice.

300 hundred bucks is a steal. That little trike is in great condition. Makes me want one so bad. Maybe one day I will have one.

The frame would have been black from the factory so you wouldnt have sanded down to red,Unless its some year of one I havent seen that came with a red frame.82 is the first year of the 4 speed so you know its older than that.Here is a pic of an 81.

Well I painted mine red. I thought thats what color they where. No I may have to repaint it. Not sure if I will though. Do you guys think it will look ok red? Thanks, Adam.

It wont look bad red .Do it the way you like it.I just wanted you to know that they came black since it sounded like you thought they came red is all.I always like the the all red theme on the 88 crs.They had red frame plastic and seat with white lettering.

If you decide to go black and are using spray paint,the duplicolor ford semi gloss black engine paint looks alot like the gloss of the stock honda black.Full gloss doesnt look so good to me.Its engine paint but paints better than any spray paint I have tried.
