Carb Replacement

I have this Kawasaki Mojave and the carburator has definetly seen better days. the idle screw is stripped and missing i gerry-rigged a replacement but it loosened and dissappeared after about 10 min of riding, it dies at idle and either is starving for fuel or flooding at high rpm's, it is a diaphragm style and I would like to replace it with a butterfly carb, also the choke is a strange setup that supplies more fuel to the carb rather than adjusting the air flow.

Any one have any suggestions on size and fit for this 1989 mojave?
