I'm a newbie to this coin collecting, But I've been searching ebay alot lately and decided to pick this up. This auction had alot of bids on it so that's what attracted me to it. I ended up paying $21 and some change for it.

When I said newbie I really mean NEWBIE as I know absolutly nothing about these coins or any coins for that matter.. lol. Does that auction seem like a good deal?

I'm also looking for any good info anyone can give as to the certian grades or coin that is worth buying. Can anyone explain any of this to me. It certianly seems like an intresting hobbie but there is ALOT to learn. Seems like the guy that works behind the counter at my local coin shop isnt very helpful?!?! But I know you guys are here so I just thought I'd ask to see if anyone else shares this intrest.

Yes,those are the one's.

A reverse negative mean the picture is printed backwards on both sides of the coin.

I got a good collection.. need to update it however..

The condition makes a BIG difference... Un-circulated coins are the best.. the one you posted was certainly in circulation.. but a nice find !

There is a book released once a year with all the coins and prices with different grades listed.. from Mint to Poor .. .. . just like a Beket for hockey cards..

DO NOT TRY TO CLEAN IT WHAT EVER YOU DO !!!! you will do more harm than good.. so resist the temptation ! Seal it up in a plastic sleave and keep it dry .

I collect coins too...but I havent done it in a while. I've got several hundred coins. Some of them are pretty rare, but most are pretty common I guess.

I have a whole cookie tin full of strange coins from all over. I have some of the old greek drachmas somewhere along with some of those plastic australian bills. How do I know they are plastic? Easy. One day I was trying to iron one flat and it stuck to the iron and shrunk like those colorform things you put in the oven.
