185s carb issues

when you turn the gas on the gas keeps pures out the over flow on the bottom. Keeps coming out untill the tanks full. took it off and cleaned it and it still does this. when it was purchased it came with a needle but we didn't use the same needle it came with it. could that be the problem.

Either you've got a bad float, sticking float, or the needle is not sealing against the seat. Your carb bowl is filling, the parts inside that shut off the fuel flow are not doing their job, and the fuel level rises until it come out the overflow tube or bowl vents.
