I have recently bought a 1985 350x. It ran fine when I bought it but now when I start it up it smokes horribly. It has been doing this for a while now. Recently it has been smoking after the engine is warm too. Not as bad as start up though. The guy I bought it from said he bored it 0.020 over and ground the valves. I was wondering if it needs new valve seals or possibly rings. Thanks

My 350x smoked at start up. I was told it was valve seals or rings. I bought this kit from ebay and I will have it installed next week. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4551445481&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT

Thats cool. Kind of expensive for a rebuild though. I was hpoing on buying new valve seals and gaskets and rings and fixing it. Possibly getting a 10.25:1 piston too. I dont think ill need the jug like in the kit. Ill know what I need when I tear it down I guess.

Did you get the kit you ordered off of ebay, interested in finding out how good of a job these guys do, the price does seem high but the cylinder looks practically new and I don't own a sandblaster. It may even be cheaper then if you had your own sandblasted by someone and then machined by someone else, plus the piston itself is expensive and ordering all that stuff separate will probably cost you just the same after shipping and whatnot.
