I'm starting to return how I was, I got hit by a car and badly messed up, 2 shattered legs, broken shoulder, cracked skull, and facial scarring. I was basically to the point of death. Now I am able to do alot more and are in a rehab/nursing home. I was in the hospital/rehab for 1 1/2 months. I can do alot more now and hopefully I will be back home in 2 weeks w/ crutches and all the metal and braces gone. I hope to return riding in 3 months, work in 5-6 and somewhere between those 2 I am going to buy myself a harly.
I really hope to be back riding my 250r and racing it around august, I don't know if that is gonna happen, but I'm gonna try. My parents come and visit me all the time and a few friends did too. I'll be checking my email and the forums I'm a member of every few days. Right now I am in a wheel chair and can stand on one leg and put pressure on one arm, that should change soon and I will be on crutches, once they say I am good on them, I'M GOING HOME. I'll talk to you guys later. you learn alot of lessons and self-dependance where I am/was, I honestly hope this does not happen to anybody else and it is live changing to a point.

Man... I was wondering about you. Sure am glad to here your healing. I've never been in a situation like that, but I know it's got to be tough. At least your screen name is now a legitimate title now!

Hope to see you this fall for some fun on the trikes. Take your time in rehab and heal up completely before you push it.

Sorry to hear of the misfortune, but happy to hear you're healing up.

If you don't mind me asking, what happened in the accident?

Wow! Glad to hear you are doing better and things are looking up. It's no fun going to shock trauma from that motorcycle either. I've been hit and run and it's no party. Still riding though. Make sure you are 100% before you ride the harley. They are heavy, and 1 slip, and you could mess up some fancy reconstruction. Best of luck. When you get the harley, let me know and we can go riding.

Hey Man....good luck with your recovery. I almost died in a car accident 11 years ago. I flipped a car at 100 MPH. I was Medivaced to Hackensack Medical Center. I broke my back in 3 places, fractured my skull, broke my clavula (spelling), my shoulder blade, etc. I was in a back brace for 6 months. I have video of it. Anyway, I was where your are now and wish you well. Someday we will meet and ride.

Aside for woods riding, I only ice race now, no more jumping for me because of my back, but you, like me will ride again.

Good Luck! Speedy recovery!

About 4-5 weeks ago, somebody on atvriders was wondering where you were. You were missed! Anyway, it could have been worse--you could have been on your trike.:D

no, no rausch creek. I have a friend who went there. riding for me is completely out of the question for atleast 2 months. When I get back riding, I'll be on my 200x and my street legal dirtbike,my 250r's, crf450r quad, yz400 are totally out of question.

I was at the doctor today and how it looks is bad. I will not be weight-bearing on my right arm and left leg for another month. Tommorrow I am having surgery to take off the metal brace on my right shoulder, but the bone is not totally healed, so no weight bearing. It looks like a return to riding in 4 months and 6-7 months for work, not what I wanted to hear. The good news is that I should be home in 2 weeks, of course wheel chair bound. I'll keep you guys updated on what happens and my dad is gonna get me a laptop computer and wire-less modem when I return to home, so I can use the computer at home. when I return riding it will be on my 200x and working my way up. About 2 weeks ago I had to re-learn to write and I have re-learned to eat with my left hand.

Assuming the woman had insurance, you shouldn't be hurting for ca$h for awhile. The payout for pain and suffering should be substantial.

Good to see you posting again Deathman, hope you have a speedy recovery but by the sound of it your more than determined. I've had a shattered leg and pelvis, that was bad enuff, can't imagine both legs and arms and other odds and ends. Stay focused and you will have a strong and speed recovery. Best wishes.

I am very determined. I'm going to the doctor next wedsnday and I hope he will say that I am strong enough in my arm for a crutches, I am almost sure the leg is strong enough the walk(I can stand on both together without any pain). I am going to ask about joining a health club to use the pool, so I can restore my muscles and affected joints without stess. I plan to be back walking a 2-3 weeks(I just hope the doctor lets me do so), I am almost sure I am able to walk right now, but you know doctors and how much they baby you. I think I will go to crutches regardless of what the doctor says and get more moviblity and just my own bone feeling and how it feels. I don't believe much in doctors, I think they are so overcarefull and love to push pills so much that they retard rehabilitation(I told the nursing home/rehab to f___ themslves about the pain killer, antidepressant(used to put you to sleep earler), and other bs stuff they gave me) I'm doing fine a week later without any of the pills from the nursing home/rehab. I WILL be back riding by mid june/early july regardless of what my parents, lawyer, and doctor think. I am determined to do that and not much is gonna stop me.

Don't push yourself too hard. Take it slow at first and work your way up. The pool is a great idea. Just don't try to progress too quickly. Just because you don't feel pain doesn't always mean everything is fine.

I don't know about you, but 2 1/2 months is enough time to heal a broken leg. I broke my leg leg before I and I know pain and what can happen and can't. In 01 I broke my left leg, I climbed the stairs in front of my house. I lost my balance and accidently put about 50% on left leg, it hurt and bad. After the docotors decisions and medicines they prescribed to my family members I lost all concidence in them. I remember physical theripy yelling at me the first time I broke my leg about my mom teaching me how to walk, the docotr joined in too and said theripy should have taught me how to walk, not my mom, and theripy is alot more qualified then her, has the machines, etc. I have a strong believe that physical theripy is waste of time and money, and its not gonna change.

yes, I'm very determined. I got up a drove 3 days after I got home despite what was said by my family members, doctor and friends and I'm doing great at it and believe it or now, my right hand and wrist are getting recovery very quickly. I'm glad to hear all the support, I got alot of support from exriders.com and r-central.net too, all of them are waiting fo rme to send pics of me riding for the first time, and one guy on r-central is gonna pay for all the charges at Rausch Creek the first time I go(he's a friend)
