No power valves in 250R's. That was later technology!
All 2 strokes have a "Powerband" where they generate the best power.

I personally like the light blue power band for woods riding, and the purple for all out drags. The purple can be found on ebay sometimes, but they cost$$$$ :naughty:

Adam, looks like your kinda new to the air cooler thing....first off hope you like the trike. I love my air cooler, and just to let you know they (despite what some folks may say) can make really healthy and wide powerbands...it just depends on your engine mods, gearings, ect.

But I do gotta admit I like the Carbon Fiber powerband the best :rolleyes :lol

the power band is nothing more then were a engine make's it's best effecent power. normally between peak torque and peak hp. doesn't need to be two stroke any engine has a "powerband". for example a stock ls1 camaro make's peak torque at 4500rpm and peak hp around 5700rpm so the powerband is from roughly 4500 to 5700 rpm.
