As many of you know my first daughter was born 7 months ago. Well last week i found out my wife is three months pregnant. So i know now that i will need a bigger vehicle. So i want to here yalls opinion about how to get the best deals and any body that works at a dealership i would appreciate any insight. I am looking to probly get an expedition. I have never spent this much on a vehicle before, thats why i want to make it right. We usaully buy a new vehicle every 2 years and have never spent more than 20,000. now i am looking at almost doubling this.

You need to look into a crew cab sort of truck. There are tons of sizes and brands out there and plenty to suit your price and style. I like the crew cab idea (as I have 2 of them now, F250 crew cab and Nissan frontier crew cab). This way you can fit the family nicely and still have room for the trike.

well i am also taking care of my parents and i have to cram them in with the cars seat ( my dad is 350 pounds) in my extended cab. So i am looking for the third row seating. I am going to trade in the truck and keep the mustang as a work car. ( it is just 2 years old and i only owe 1800).

Just get a MEGA CAB, there will be plenty of room.

it will be cramped with two car seats and four adults. plus my wife cannot even park are ext. cab f150. i went and looked at those sunday and those things are a mile long.

just do it like this, front seat adult, baby, adult and then back seat adult, baby, adult. Plenty of room and you can ever recline in the back seats. And you can just have the wife park it far out in the parking lot, or back it in as that is the easiest.

Our daughter just got out of a car seat in the last coupel years. No way would I buy a pickup with kids still in car seats. With kids that young when you live the house you need to have the contents with you (diaper bag, strollers, blankets, car seats, play pens, etc).

We owned a suburban, it was great and got decent mileage for avehicle that big.

yep, a truck is out of the question. We test drove a suburban and we were kinda iffy about it. we are both ford people. We went and drove a durango and there is no way i will buy one of those. we looked at the magnum, but my wife is almost 6' tall so that she says it was too much to bend down to load everything. the explorer felt just like a ranger. We think the expedition might be the best bet. We looked at hummers but the H2's are way too expensive for what you get and the H3's are a freakin joke. they have less room than the explorer. My head hit the cieling.

Don't get a durango. I hated our 03, it was terrible. I would have to say ti was the worst newer vehicle I have ever bought. No space, low power, gas hog.

i have that same problem, go get an explorer, or if your a girly man, a bow tie. they are cheap, and roomy, bad on gas. If you need bigger, get in excersion

Hey the rest of these people have some pretty good ideas. I thought of one more thing. Don't get nothing to comfortable or you might be looking for a school bus. LOL. With gas prices the way they are I would hate to be in the market you are in.Good luck.

my dad and I are both pretty big guys (my dad is 6'9" and I'm 6'1") and my dad can sit in the middle seat of our expidition with the front seat all the way back and his knees barely touch the front seat. lots of room and very comfortable. we call it the LRGKAR on the tag.

explorer's are just too tiny and i get free fuel so that is not an issue. but i think i am going with the expedition.

I can't help but think "An once of prevention is worth a pound of cure."...lmao

Just kiddin dude. Congrats on the soon to be new addition.

As far as advice...I know a real man would hate the idea, but don't count out the newer mini-vans. Plenty of room for the family, usually good fuel mileage and you can still get a trike in the back if necessary (or pull a trailer)...:w00t:

dude, find a good used excursion with a v-10 and you wont be sorry, if it doesnt rust out, your new baby will be driving it in another 16 years. tons of room, tons of power, great towing abbility. and it will be ALOT cheaper than a new expidition.

i like the excursions but the wife hates them and no too a mini van. i have to use this to tow my air nautiqu. i think we have found what we are looking for. a limited expedition. it has every option that is availabe and 4x4 ( ididnt know they could put so much on a vehicle). the price tag is a little steep ( $50,995) but i have them talked down pretty good. we are suppose to sign papers tomorrow if they get my intrest rate and trade right.

that is why i say FORD!!!! My company truck ( which has been badly abused ). it is a 2000 F150 and has 230,000 miles. i have skipped every other oil change and she still runs and drives great. The only thing i have done is fuel filter and spark plugs. suprisingly it still looks damn good too......... Now i have a dilema. They gave me a slightly cheaper expedition while we work out the deal on the expensive one. It has two bench seats in the backet which the limited has 2 buckets and a bench. i think that extra seat will come in handy. but then i dont want to pass on the limited. so i dont know what i am going to do.
