Hi everyone,

It is night here in NC, and i just returned from a nice 3-wheeler push out in the woods. The engine runs wonderfully, and with a new spark plug, started every first pull.. My spark plug gave out a couple of days ago, and since i didnt want to buy my 13th spark plug in 1 month, i tried isolating it with some other tubes, etc.. The spark looked much stronger, 3-wheeler started immediately but gave out about 10 minutes later. What is destroying the spark plugs this way???

BTW, the plug is wet-black everytime i use it. Does that mean the carb isnt tuned properly? It runs amazingly.

it sounds like youre running a little rich...is the choke in the lower position...the lowest position is off, and the upper position is choked.

Are there any mods to the trike? Exhaust, porting, uni/k&n air filter with airbox removed? THese would usually lean the mixture out but someone may have rejetted and went too big on the jet sizes. There are carb rebuild kits on ebay and mfgsupply.com for cheap, id try to pick one up and see how it goes.

Open your carb up and see what size jets are in there, as well as what clip the needle is on. Also check the settings for your air/fuel screw.

THe manual for the 200s can be found at http://deepa.recongamer.com free of charge to download. THis will give you the stock jet sizes, air/fuel settings, and needle clip settings.

Give us some more info and we should be able to help, but id throw a rebuild kit in there carb regardless, just because its at least 20 years old.

Mike

Hoave you tried to clean the plug and re-use it? If so will it then get a good spark or will the clean used plug still not work?
