Valva adjustment on BigBear ?

A guy brought in a bigbear that the other ATV shop in town just got finished working on. He had the valves adjusted there and when it got here they were clattering so bad they sounded like they were going to come through the head. Well I get into it and to my suprise they are not loose, instead they are so tight there is absolutly ZERO clearance between your adjustment nut and your valve stem. Typically a valve clatters when its loose, I have never heard one do it when it tight. Is that even possible? I am confused at the moment on this one.

Could extreme heat maybe have warped something along the way??? That's my initial thought. I'll ask the boys what they think this evening at our beer drinking meeting.:lol: :lol:

I have just never seen valves "rattle" when they are too tight, I am going to adjust them to spec and see what happens. Its just strange.
