honda 185s Question

I am trying to take the exhaust pipe and muffler off. I have taken out all bolts and nuts, however I can not seem to remove the muffler from the pipe and the pipe from the engine. Everything is rusted solid and will not move, what should I use to remove the pipe and muffler?

The muffler should slide off of the pipe. I can be rusted on pretty bad. There should be "ears" on the end of the muffler that go over the header pipe. Can you carefully bend the ears away from the header?

I'll try to bend it back, but it looks that if i bend it too much it might break off.

You should not have to bend them much. There are three or four fingers. Bend each one up a little bit, and then see if you can twist the muffler on the headpipe. Once you get it to move, you should be able to get them apart.

Thank you for the help guys I got the muffler and exhaust apart. Where can I get some packing for the muffler, it has none?
