I own a 1986 250sx and wanted to know more about it.
- Why do you hardly ever see them for sale/anywhere?
-How much would one be worth if it all worked properly and had a repainted gas tank, engine and nothing is cracked/broken off/dented?
-What is the biggest problem/con about them?
-What is the best thing about them?
Thanks guys
Dave

What kind of shape is your trike in(PICS!!)? Are you the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. owner? The SX is a utility trike, w/ great power- suspension is geared more for trail riding/working, some of the SX's you see have the front & rear racks, ball hitch, plow, etc. Some folks(like me, & quite a few others on this site) have Made the 200x front end swap, which gives you disc brakes & better(well, stiffer, for jumping) front suspension. What's yours worth? post pics, so we all can voice our opiniions on that. Pros & cons? Well, as far as I'm concerned, it's a Honda, will run forever(Now that I own it, & baby it)! Oh, here's one con- there's no aftermarket rear fender set that has the original set up w/ the trunk, someone could make a whole lot of money ...............TGG

250sx's are great bikes, I love riding them and I will not sell the one I have now because I'll just keep adding mods to it. I'm getting a 200x front end shipped to me today for it and I cant wait. It will be lighter and higher in the front :naughty:, have disc brakes and will have better handling. I am going to get a pair of handle bars and a cobra exhaust system after I pay for the front end. These trikes cannot be killed, Ive known guys who have brought their sx's to hell and back and it still ran the best kind. I have my gas tank repainted and the headlight housing and I also have brand new aftermarktet fenders on the back(maier)I'm just going to add on to it as time goes on:w00t:

Looking good, Chris! The front swap for me was pretty easy, plus my X front's got the Hondaline rock guard & fender brace! My motor should be done in a couple weeks, hopefully by then I will have a digital camera-Too bad I don't have any "before" pics. Brian. Oh yeah, check out the 86 200X fender swap thread!

Ya I need to find a front fender because the front end I am getting doesnt come with one. I want to swap over a 250r front fender because they look a lot better:naughty:

there are SXs in the local paper here every week, just depends on where your at.
$1000 as long as nothing is spray painted
Water and mud getting into the brake drum and rear oil housing (The place where you put the gear oil)
Lots of low end torque with enough gears to get you flyin.

There are tons of them around, especially on ebay. Sometimes just 1 or 2 and other times I have seen 4 or 5 on!

A good solid SX with nothing wrong with it will bring a 1000, just like wheeliepop said. A REALLY nice one will venture into the 12,13,14 and 1500 catagory
-What is the biggest problem/con about them?
I'd say they don't have any major problems and not even any minor ones either. It seems to be the perfect sport-utility trike. Not a power house by any means but the power it does have is very tractable and useable. Suspension is on the soft side but then again it's not made to ride real aggressive over jumps or anything and I give it a A+ for hitting the trails, which is what it's intended for. Love the auto clutch too. Not the hot set up for hill climbs but for most other situations it's the cats meow!
What is the best thing about them?
#uno is the reliability if them. Shaft drive is nice too. No messy chain, no adjustment, maintenece free! Reverse comes in quite handy too.
