Okay we got the side cover off and lookes at the plates, ,the pads are pretty much glazed, we got the four bolt plate off that tightens the plates up but we cant get the dang center bolt off, we tried impacts and everything, is there a special way to get that nut off or what?? we finaaly got it to move with a little grit betwwen the pads and no oil and it moved fine(we only drove it 20ft and shut it off just to see if the tranny was good) and it was, but i got an estimate on the plates $90 bucks , so my ? is how do you get that nut off (26 mm) i believe.

Randy-- My "CLYMER" says:
Place a soft copper washer (or copper penny) between the primary drive gear on the backside of the oil filter rotor and the drive gear on the clutch outer housing. This is to keep the oil filter rotor from rotating while loosening the locknut. CAUTION-The locknut has left-hand threads. Loosen it by turning it clockwise.

Did you try that? My book is for '86-'87 200x, (yours is '84 or '85 isn't it?) but should be same I would think.
