I noticed that my 84' BR shaft drive system is a 1 year only design and was shared with the 84' TRX200. Was this system problematic at all ? do I need to take it easy on her ? my old 83' BR chain model was tough as nails and dead simple.
thanks

The most common issue that I really know of with the 200cc Big Reds is the Front shocks. IMO, The design of them leaves a lot to be desired. The shocks are the same from 82-84.

My guess for the 84's is this: Yamaha came out with the 225. Honda couldn't stand to be second place here so they Designed and built the 250es and the 250sx's to remain on top. I think the 85's were a rushed design because there was quite a few changes from 85 to the 86-87 models.

It's not that the 200es was a bad trike with a lot of problems its just the 250es, it's replacment, is very nice. The only think with a shaft drive model is you do need to change the drive oil every few years. Other then that don't worry about it.
