I was recently over at a friends something i have never seen before behind the barn. It was dark out so i dont have a lot of info. Anyways it appeared to be a 200x year unknown but what was really different about it is that instead of haveing a headlight it had a oil cooler with lines that ran to the bottom end. The thing runs but is fairly beat i think i could get it for cheap. Does anybody have ne info on what i may have stumbled upon? The bike is actually the guys my friends brother, and he said he has seen it walk all over a few other 200x. I posted this question on another forum and people told me it was a 350x, i know its not this due to the fact the pipe doesnt split. I guess my question is, is this thing worth looking into, and if its so fast what is it somebodies old race trike that found its way into a back yard to sit and rot? Thanks guys

An Oil cooler can be added without much problem. I would get more info though, you never know what other goodies could be on there.

Here is a link to the site where I loaded all the pics i could get! The things that i found that were interesting were that it is a six speed so it must be 86 or newer (the year tag was missing), It has an aftermarket of exhaust of some sort, swing arm looks longer, wider in the rear than normal, also the carb is way different than the one on mine, and the swingarm guard is different. Over all i really like the looks of this thing! what do you guys think about it?

looks like a 1987 with a few goodies on it...not sure of the carb but the diarreah colored pipe is a cobra. Thats a pretty trick oil system..i bet it would work a whole lot better if that oilcooler was as tall and wide as the tripples trees though...why take that trike..take that good lookin one behind it!

Looks like a pretty stock 86/87. Nice buy if you get it cheap.

I have an 86 thats a lot cleaner than the one behind it. Plus i think the one behind it still gets a fair amount of use! Does anybody else have some opinions on the one in the pics? Im interested in finding out as much as i can from you guys with the pictures i have!!

Swingarm and axel length and width look pretty stock to you guys? Maybe it just looks different because i still have the fat stock tires on my 86. I need new ones lol! Also ne body have an idea on that carb b/c i dont. Also the air box is removed and a KN filter is on the tube! yeah what do you think would be a good price to start lowballing at?

that's a 86/87 200x looks like a 350x carb on it but not sure this was a mod that I've seen before. Once you ride a 86/87 200x the 83- 85 just don't ride as well. I would give 300.00 for it as it sets

firefirefire90

I would start it at $300.00..and start pointing out everything that is wrong and bring him down..DO NOT Say what is so great on it..oh..and Sweet kill switch! i need to get myself one of those...

As i have said before i have a really nice 86 in stock condition sitting in the garage ( ill get pics up soon) what im asking is it worth it if i really dont have a lot of money to spend on toys? Are the carb exhaust cooler and possible internal mods enough to make it that much faster than the 86 i have now?

erectordale
05-12-2006, 12:03 AM
without knowing what alll mods have been done Cam bored maybe even some custom head work it's hard too say if it's faster

quick99
05-12-2006, 12:24 AM
yeah you make a good point there. Well i sleep on it...i would like to keep the one i have now a stocker and maybe buy this one to make fast...with some new plastics, frame powder coat and a clean up this one could be sexy.....just my opinion....would be nice if it had a ton of internal work done to it to........well off to bed i go to think about it lol

it looks like an 86 to me. the 87's said 200x across the tank and tank shroud. It is possible that it has a different tank but id say its an 86.

Probably just an 85 200x with white plastics and a white tank. And I dont know what carb that is but it is not a 350x. Probably just stock. Pick it up cheap if ya can

he said its a 6-speed so that rules out 83-85

Looking at the pic's really closly thats a sx or es carb the look almost the same as a 350x carb just a choke differance I still would grab it up if you can get it bought cheap

BigGreenMachine
05-13-2006, 12:22 AM
Yeah, if its smoking 83-85 200X's then thats just normal since the 86/87's were faster. The square tubed frame tells the generation but not the exact year. Looks pretty beat all the same. Did the guy accept your lowball offer?

If you can get it cheap go for it, looks like it would be a fun project.

I personally would leave it alone and ride the one you have... Let someone with money buy that one, as it's a money pit waiting to happen, unless you like trikes that look horrible.... Just my two cents.... James

Carb isnt a 350x, Its a small one tho. It has an acclerator pump and looks almost identical to the 400ex one but some litlte diffrences and its way small. Might be off of like a xr250 or somthing simular to that.

Tri-ZNate
05-13-2006, 08:19 PM
possibly a 300ex carb since the SX and es dont have an external choke.
