Ok, so i'm getting some new tires for my 400ex and i'm running stock 400ex tires in it, and there 20-11-9 i think, but these maxxis all traks are 22-11-9, would that slow me down or make me faster or what. please help i 'm spending $400 on tires (front and back) so i wanna make sure what these will do, thanks,

The bigger tires will give you more top end speed. They may slow you down a bit in the lower end but believe me when I tell you buy those tires. they are excellent!!! Those are the same size I'm running,,, I love them... I'm actually contemplating putting them on my trike as well. ;)

It has been my experience that heavy tires slow you way down. Wieght is the main thing I look at when buying tires. Yes those 22" tires will add lots of topend speed.

i have the same tires, but never used them! there brand new on 10 inch aluminum rims 22X11X10. and they don't really feel that heavy,at least not compared to a set of relators! but a 9 inch rim will make them heavier, but if you buying new rims why not get a 10 inch rim? they will weight less and not slow you down as much.

If you are a mud and trail rider, youre going to love those tires and the 22x11-9 is a great choice. They are very thick, but very soft, smoother ride and are actually a pretty light weight tire. I ran them on a TRX250 utility, TRX250R, TriZ and my Quad-Z conversion. I think theyll work even better for you on that 4 stroke. Ive only ever punctured one, and that was on a nail with the utility.

Going to 22" will be gearing slightly higher, but it wont be by much. The stock style tire sits pretty high where these are squared off slightly, so It wont be by as much as you might think. If it becomes an issue, just drop a tooth on your front sprocket.

Im personally not big fan of 10" rims for trail riding, especially the rocky areas we ride. More rim and less tire means more chewed up rims. I like 8" even better but your rim choices drop very quickly. The slight weight savings is not worth it on the trails. The rolled lip OEM aluminim Honda rims you have on your 400EX are about as durable as they come and these tires will work well on them. Save your 10" rims for the race track.

about 6 months ago i knew i would be getting some taller tires so a went to a 14 tooth on front instead on the stock 15. would that keep my low end about the same. and i took my airbox lid off for the first time and i noticed a little more low end punch

so do they go pretty good in the mud, sand, etc.
