I need some help on this one. I picked up another quad sport and I can’t seem to figure the no spark problem. Does anyone know how to check the cdi, stator coil, or the pulse generator? I have tried 2 other cdi boxes with the same results no spark. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Dave

I know, its not a Honda ...... lol j/k. Sounds like you could need a new stator, thats my guess.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to test the electrics on this. To quote you on its not a honda It will be honda powered soon if I can't figure this thing out LOL n/k I have another 86 200x six speed motor that might go in it. Then I will have two honda powered lt230's and one zilla powered lt230 LOL the last one is not rideable with out tearing the swing arm and the frame and if you can stay on it your arms out of there sockets LOL. I took this one down to the frame to beef it up.

Not trying to be a smartass or nuthin but could be a bad kill switch I had one that ran fine one day and then nuthin. it was the kill switch replaced it and it worked fine again. Get one of those pointy screwdriver lookin things with a light bulb and alligator clip on them and start testing + wires as it roles over. May need a volunteer kicker.

Can anyone tell me how much resistance you are suppose to have when you hook up a ohm meter to the stator coils? I’m trying to get to the bottom of this no spark problem with out buying parts that I don’t need. I have already bypassed the stop switch and tried 2 cdi units on it. I also tried 2 different coils on it so I assume it has something to do with the stator assembly. When I removed the stator cover the previous owner didn’t use loc tight on the screws that hold the stator plate in place and the assembly stayed with the flywheel. There is some damage done to the smaller coil that I believe is for the spark. I just want to be able to test it and the lighting coil before I replace them.
I have other stator coils from a parts motor but would like to check them before I assemble it and find that the one that I replaced it with is no good
Thanks Dave
