Hi
I,m rebuilding my brothers 250R ,the motor was a dog from the word go and I,ve spent hours getting parts etc for it ,,I,m just about there and this afternoon I have rebuilt the right side ,but when I push the kickstarter ,it doesnt return ,, !!!! How many times should I have wound the spring up?
Any help would be much appreciated because this motor is really starting to get on my tits

No ,I,m just wondering if I need to "wind" the spring up more in order for the kicker to return ... it doesnt say much in the workshop manual

Stacey, The spring on the Z is a big beefy thing, id really struggle to wind it.
Is the spring your using new? if its old it could just be weak?.

Well I,ve just ordered a couple of return springs ,This is the only thing holding me up now as far as the motor is concerned.. Shouldnt be too long before the R is up and running again !!!

I hope so Will !!I getting fed up of seing my bro,s motor on my bench I should be concentrating on MY project 200X  ... To be honest theres not that much to do on the motor ,,, just get the kicker returning ,and put a new set of piston rings and install the piston ,then get it painted ,, roller is just waiting on some rubbers that should be arriving next week .I,ll be posting pics soon :w00t:
