dunes bike

hey evryone, im looking to get myself a dirtbike; i ride primarily at the dunes. i want somthing with enough power to haul me up some dunes and what not. i was looking at a cr250 or yz250. what do you think?

I'm no expert in sand but I would imagine any 250 would get the job done.

find ya a big bore pinger for the dunes. cr500, kx50, yz490, they have enough power that you dont have to ring the motor out like you would a 250 pinger.

not saying 250's are bad, they just have to rung out a little tighter than a 500.

Kinda depends on yer size....Im 185 6'2" and I ride an 87 CR250 every now and then and it has more than enough power to get me around....a 500 has a lot of nuts but in my opinion it feels heavy and less agile but I dont really have the weight to throw that kind of power around.
