theres a bolt just behind the waterpump on the the clutch case on the right side, take that out and fill it till it starts comeing out then you know its full. I use 80w belray motorcycle tranny fluid but 10-30 or 10-40 will be just fine.seeing how its summer now i would use 10-40, pre mix i would try 32-1 to start with, I run 50-1 with a highly modified engine and jetted correctly
If your still not shure on what bolt to take out let me know and ill try and get a pic.
here see right behind my silver waterpump cover and the bump out for the cluch baskit... thats the bolt! the lowest bolt on the waterpump cover is the one you drain your radatior fluid from if you ever have too.:TrikesOwn

yes thats it, its a good idea to check it often, just pull that bolt out and top it off before you do alot of rideing.. it shouldnt be spitting out anywhere unless you have bad crank seals, shift shaft seal or output shaft seal, kickstartshaft seal :D
