Hey guys,
Ive been trying to bleed my dads rear brakes for god knows how long. One day we were riding and they locked up, so we replaced the seals and I know they were correct as well.
So I read about cracking the bleeder, pressing slow on pedal and then closing bleeder and repeat.
Then I also read about the hose trick.
I can get fluid to sqiurt a few inches off the bleeder, and still some air bubbles. I used method 1 and it worked, I did it for 1 hour and still had same results. How long must you do this?
Also, thge fluid level is full, and will go down if I keep bleeding.
Any suggestions?

If you put a tube on the bleeder and hold the tube in the air, you can get a little fluid in the tube so when you lift off the pedal it doesnt suck air back in the bleeder. This is by far the easiest way I have found.
A clear tube is best so you can see what your not getting any more air out.

What i did was open the bleeder and take the cap off the ressi and let it gravity feed entill pure fluid comes out. make sure you keep the ressie full and dont touch the brake pedal. I let mine gravity feed for about 5 mins or so.

so tw, it went empty? or you keep adding fluid, I got pure fluid now if I crack it, but it will only hold its charge once
Whats the deal?

Total of 5 hours put into these POS brakes. Rebuilt them 3 times, tryed different assembly ways. Nothing new
They will gravity flow out, pump the lever it speeds us the process.
No bubbles coming out, close the bleeder. Try the pedal nothing there.
Im really starting to get pissed at these POS brakes, any help?

same thing is happening to the front brakes on my 350x. rebuilt master cylinder, all new fluid, even bought a mityvac pump/vaccumm and still nothing...gets hard but not for long.
next step is buy a new master cylinder and then step 2 is rebuild the caliper

what lines do you have on your bike? are they rubber or Stainless?
Rubber hoses can stretch when they get older, and that can screw your pressure over.

The master is where fluid gets bypassed and then pressure won't build up. Unless the caliper is leaking fluid, or has a seized piston, there is simply no way for fluid to get by. Make sure the slide pins are working too..
