I just got off the phone with Pete at Haspin Acres. He has informed me that they are going to be very strick on speeds in the camping area. 5 mph Limit!! You MUST wear a helmet even when riding camp site to camp site. And there is to be NO riding in the grass.

They spent a lot of time effort and money to get the grassy areas fixed up and he will not stand for it being destoyed. I can totally understand this. He told me there was a few people ejected from Haspin this weekend for riding on the grass and / or speeding in the camping area's. When moving around use the Drives only!!

Now to define the riding in the grass: We are allowed to park your atv, tent, camper on the grass. How ever on the grass we are NOT allowed to: Ride wheelies, ride from campsite to camp site, cruise around, ect. Pete told me we are required to use the drives when going from camp to camp. And that Security will be out in full force. They may or may not issue a warning before ejection.

If you see anyone violating the rules, please let them know the rules.

Main Camp Rules:
No riding on the grass.
No speeding ( 5mph limit )
Always wear a helmet when riding!!

Thanks

For clarification if we camp in the grass we are allowed to ride our trikes up to the t he campsite across the grass and then park it as long as we are not not traveling across it anymore then we have to, correct?

As long as you take it easy, you will be OK. But if your ripping on it on the grass ( speeding, burnouts, wheelies, ect ), then Pete / Security will be on you like white on rice.
He stressed that he don't want the grass tore up.

5mph and under wheelies are fine. If they get the groomed the drag strip in time, you could have a higher speed wheelie show off there. :D

The later it gets that will probably go up to closer to 100%. Guys on the big red riding the front and rear racks ring any bells (aside from the bell that got rung when the dude got dumped off the front rack)

I would think there wouldn't be much of a need for wheelies in the camping areas. There are plenty of other places for that. Why risk it?

Side note: I think they passed legislation in PA that the only thing you cannot get a DUI on now is a horse. Anything else that moves is fair game, including bicycles.

I think it would be easier to simply state:

"If you are going to ride like a *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**E dited*, do it outside the camping area"

Am I correct?
