View Full Version : 1984 200es carb leaking
Howdy all,
my problem is, I rebuilt the carb and it still pours gas out the overflow tube and also spills into the air cleaner box. My question is, how do I adjust the float because it is one of the plastic ones. I cleaned everything out when I had it apart, so any other ideas for my problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
ok, I replaced the float and the flooding problem is gone. Now, the engine starts ,but revs up really high. besides checking for an intake leak, is there any adjustment on the carb that could cause this? I played with the idle adjust screw and it had no affect.
Please help

rotate the slide on your carb 180 degrees. I did the same thing on my 200es the first time I had it off.

why does it need adjusted?
do you need a new needle and seat???
try lightly tapping on the carb bowl to see if there stucki have had that problem before and needed nothing else
to adjust it- there is a tang that the needle touches bend it either way /one way shuts fuel down ---the other lets more fuel in!!!
try everything else before messin with this propper floar height is verry critical
good luck:cool:
