For all those who did not know, I bought a chinese mini quad for my 3 year old daughter. It is a kazuma 50 wich is imported by many companies like
www.rightwayatv.com and also www.racewayatv.com and I think the same bikes are sold through www.wickedrocket.com

anyways, I bought this one from rightway, and it was supposed to be a 50 with a 4 speed auto clutch tranny. I ordered it on 6-1 and it showed up on 6-6! I uncrated it and it was all put together already and seemed very high quality. i noticed that it had no gear shifter, so it was an auto (CVT) like a poolaris. I also noticed that the jug (complete Honda copy motor) said 72cc on it. Well, that was ok, I guess who would complain about getting a bigger engine? Not me. It also had a remote key fob with an alarm, remote start, lockout feature and a remote kill. It has TWO kill features for a parent to either stall out the engine or kill it completley. The frame and plastic was very heavy duty and finish is very nice. The handlebar controls also are very well built, same as Japanese stuff, as far as I could tell. Even the little tires were 4 ply tires. The battery came full and charged too, all I had to do was install it. I put gas in it, opened the float screw until gas started flowing, hit the start button and it fired right up. Cool, I took it home, showed the kids and let them ride it. Lil 'holic rode it for a while (it was raining) and liked it. seemed pretty quick, very stable and so far, I think it was a super killer buy.
aside from not getting EXACTLY what I thought, Im not complaining, its only for a little girl! So far I am very impressed. More to come on a good full day ride report but for now the chinese mini quads , or at least the kazuma is a steal and certainly gets the trikeaholic seal of approval. There is NO DOUBT that anyone would be NUTS to spend over $1000 MORE on a "big 4" mini quad, PERIOD!

Hope this helps you dads save some serious money. I know its only a day old, but from what I can tell, this thing is built like a little tank.

I hope it works out well for you. If it is as good as it sounds it will be one of the best buys you will ever make. I am curious to see how it will be in 1 year.

ditto. It is for a 3 year old girl remember. I am hoping she will be able to outgrow it.

I've got a5 year old on a Giovanni 50 honda knock off chinese quad, it impressed enough neighbors that there are now 7 or 8 of em in the area, The only serious maintenance I did on all the quads was to toss the plug, change the oil, charge the battery, and let 'em go -- for 600.00 bucks shipped to the door it's a cheap, reliable training tool, the big issue with them is a lack of safety shut offs other than the tether; it would be nice to have more than a 1 gallon fuel tank on them though, I hope the kazuma has bigger, I spend to much time off my machine fueling hers, its a little gas hog.

Just to inform you its a Honda clone engine (except for the parts that brake) Ive has several experiences with those chinese crf50 bikes and the piston is honda and thats about it. BUT hopefuly you dont have to worry about it. There are some lemmons hopefuly you didnt get one.

Craig rember hollister, you didnt let little harkey ride because the brake cable was jacked up? So it did fail you once. Also didnt you have a carb problem thanksgiving at pismo?

We Fixed the brake Cable.....And I forgot about the Carb Thingy...It wasnt the Carbs Fault it was the Air Box.....It was Turned down...And when he Buried the Rear end it was Sucking up some Sand and it made it to the Carb and Kept the Slide wide open....Turned up the Airbox and Cleaned the Carb and off he went....;)

I heard somewhere that you should check all of the nuts and bolts and put Lock-tite on the ones that work lose. Has anybody had any experience with the bigger China made quads?

My nieghbor has a 250cc Kazuma quad and its not worth the effort to throw off a bridge. Its been nothing but a problem since he brought it home. He also has a 50cc Kazuma and it SEEMS (I stress this because I am still leary and nervous of it) to be an ok machine. Time will tell. But I would stay away from the 250cc Kazuma Falcon. Its a nightmare.

Hey Holic, is that the two stroke model? What does it have for a brake setup?

It's a 4 stroke Tim, well, thats what it says on that site. And if its a crf knockoff then yeah.

I bought my boy a new kazuma 50 from our dealer 2 summers ago. It has electric start, and is heavily built. Only problem I had was those sorry azz torch plugs they come with. I put an NGK plug in it and never had any more problems. He rode the $chit out of it and it still goes and goes, we even used it as a pit bike, and when I say we I mean everyone that can get on it will and rid the stew outta it. His is a 4 speed manual shift auto-clutch setup. Seems to be a great little bike. As far as the big stuff goes, I dunno, I rode the 250 and it seems to move pretty well, and they also have a 400 2-wd and a 4-wd model, that 400 will scoot, as far as reliability goes, well I aint been that gutsy. The 250 sells for around $2100.00 or so, and the 400 sells for around $3500.00 I think. They also have a 90cc dirt bike and it rips. Just my .02 cents worth. Good luck with the quad, mine is still going and going and going, you can burn a gallon of fuel through it, great gas miser.

A MC/ATV mechanic told me the same thing. He even sells them & he said he didn't like them.

Those pics of the little boy riding his ATV were great. He looked like he was having a blast.

2 year later ride report!

still going strong, runs better than when new (not as cold blooded) has the original "torch" plug still in it as well. Now, the lil holic beats the crap out of that thing, while his sister (its rightful owner) rides it aggressively but not too hard. Original battery, everything still works, but one tire goes flat after a night of sitting.

I ordered the lil holic a 110cc and will give a ride report on that as well. It is supposed to be a 4 speed auto clutch with reverse, 18" tires, electric start, full lighting, and it better be! $700 shipped with a discount I got for being employed by a specific agency. BTW, the one we have is the same as the pics that were put up.

The lil holic is outgrowing his zinger so I guess this is what I gotta do for now. He can ride our 86 200X but its scary!

This one that is coming looks sweet. What I try to do is look CAREFULLY at the photos, often times you can tell the plastic is cheap, and pick out certain parts that look "cheezy". I then check other sites for the same model and compare the descriptions, as some descriptions are, for lack of a better term, non-existant.

I looked at the "big 4" but you know what? no lights, wierd looks and 3 times the money. Sorry, but I got $700 to gamble with.

Pics and ride report to come.

the motors are great. my son rode at redline fer 2 yrs in 1st gear and now rides in third just overworkin the clutch. in 3 yrs i have not changed the oil or even added to it. the ground clearence sucks and the frame and suspension is weak. the motor mount broke when he hit a tree and i have tied it back together with a small rope. all the lights are smashed and the thing runs like a top. im amazed on how well the motor holds up. imo there better then honda and way cheaper and have much more bling and , and, and...:)

just my experiance (spelling?) was with my friends 125cc Giovanni dirtbike. he had it for MAYBE a month, no more and we were at the local track and we were hitting 8 foot jumps and stuff, thing didnt bottom out with my 200 pound ass on it either. then when we got home, was seized up. checked the oil, nothing there. filled it up with oil, let it sit then a few days later got ticked off and went and started kicking it over. of all things, it took off. we havnt investigated but it smokes like an SOB, im guessing rings or piston. he still drives that thing with no muffler a bicyle clutch lever and a bent footpeg. before he had it seized, he had to fix it for 2 hours after driving it for 1. best of luck to you.

I bought a Kazuma 50 for my daughter 3 years ago and that thing has not skipped a beat since. My 3 year old son now rides it and she has a Polaris sportsman 90 (dumbest thing I ever spent money on) Just sign here Mr McLaughlin and you can take it home today.....ok... Wow should have bought another China wheeler and saved 2,000 bucks. Live and Learn. One good thing about the polaris is it rides one hell of a wheelie. haha

Well the shipping is mighty slow on this new one. I am not a big complainer and figure that with the price of fuel so high, they are trying to ship out a full trailer, IDK. 10 days so far and the BOL says it is sitting. ARRGHH, The lil holic is going nuts!

Here is a link to what one I got. The features are outstanding for the money, there is no doubt about that.

I own three China Quads.... the kids love them and they are tough little machines. They do vibrate a little and things get loose. I plan on buying bigger ones as the kids get bigger. I think the brands are Kazuma and Hensim?
