whats everyones thougths of this bike? likes and dislikes? is it worth $400, i quess it a 2001, the person that owns it had a stroke lately and is willing to off it to me for that much. kinda shocked seeing as its supposedly a 2001, i have seen the thing in person, it does run. needs minor work i guess. what kind of aftermarket parts are there for these? any pipies, silencers, carbs? etc?

if he is selling it for $400, take it. These quad do have alot of mods you can put on them, like what you said, pipes, carbs and a fair bit of goodies. buy it for that price, and if you can get it to Saskatchewan canada ill give you 8-900 for it:p

I have honestly only heard good things about these machines. Hell, for that price you can't go wrong. Aside from the Wolverine, they are I THINK the only machine that is classified as a sport 4x4. If you don't like it, I would gladly take it off your hands, and I'll come and pick it up too! Sorry 85:beer

For that price why would you even ask? I'll buy it and have it shipped for that price.

I rode one around 98 or so. They are really fast for a auto clutch machine. It woud pull the front tires at about 1/4 throttle. Plus the 4x4 selector is really nice.

well here it is peeps. 400 bucks, not a bad investment at all. was my father-in-laws, he had a stroke a bit back and just isnt into riding it anymore. he basically used it to go hunting or fishing with, tow the ice shanty out on the lake, etc. had to change the plug cuz it was fouling out, put some fix-a-flat in the left side tires, changed the fluids in it, took it for a spin and damn, she moves for such a big bike. gonna get rid of somestuff on it, like the trailer hitch, fender shkirts etc...sport it up a bit. maybe new chrome rims and new tires. i'd like to get a pipe if they are availible for this machine, it is very quiet for a 2stroke. i like it alot, definately has it potential.

I hear it's not uncommon for these machines to be puttin out 70 hp at the wheels with the right mods. 70hp + 4x4, you got yourself a hot dragger........or maybe a puller:twisted:

If you really wanna hop it up, holler at Wickedfinger. He's the man for that!!!! I've seen/rode a 400 2x4 with just the AAEN top end pipe, K&N, open air box, and up a main jet size. HUGE DIFFERENCE over stock!!!

$400 for that is an amazing deal .... but it sounds like it was under somewhat unfortunate circumstances. Anyway, rather than babble on here, I would suggest doing a thread search on the Scrambler or 400L or even just Polaris in general and see what I, as well as others have posted on these great machines in the past. BTW, from the pictures, it appears to be a '99.

Damn! I paid $1200 for mine a year ago and that was a good deal. It's identical to yours. Did you get a title?

like wicked said, it definetly looks like a 99. i have a 2000 scram 400 4x4 with a bunch of mods. if you get a good clutch kit, pipe and jets it will really wake that thing up.
