I recently sold the 200x and bought an 01 raptor 660. I love the thing, but it shifts a little stiff, especially upshifting. I don't have much of a problem, but my 10 year old son usually can't get it out of first gear, (under CLOSE supervision by the way) and he never had a problem with the 3 wheeler. I've heard switching to synthetic oil will help this. If so, what weight and brand should I go with?

Thanks, Jason

An 01, huh? Has it had the tranny updated yet? Hard shifts could be a sign of trouble headed your way. While you're at it, you should replace the one-way starter clutch, too.

The '01 raptor is famous for the tranny problem. I don't know the details but there is a recommended upgrade to fix the problem. Look for a raptor specific website/forum and ask there
