So i've recently got my own appartment and have been here for about 3 months now and get this i have a dishwasher! Great stuff! cleans dishes nice....
well I brought my 350x project home one night and tore it down and was like..jeeze i don't have any carb cleaner to clean the cylinder and head....then I went to the kitchen to get some 409 and then I kinda spied the empty dishwasher...and well....yeah it cleaned up my head and cylinder really well...dish detergent designed to clean off grease right! lol
now mind you kids if you try this at home don't tick off your mom, and make sure you dry everything quickly and spray your parts down with some WD40. I suggest skipping the auto dry cycle as it seems to speed up surface rusts development.
Another great use for the dishwasher is cleaning your helment! Take all the padding out as most pads in the newer helmets unsnap from the shell and load her in the dishwasher with the dinner dishes. Comes out mud and crud free and smells nice too! Run the padding through with a dark load (throw your gloves in too!) in the clothes washer and your set!
Just a little tip from Louis's Bachelor pad...
oh, and a 18v Dewalt drill makes a great mixer, just find an old beater from a broken or worn out mixer and your good to go! Great for making the fluffiest scrambled eggs you'll ever eat!

Anyone bake powdercoat in the oven?

Yup! A local guy cut two kitchen ovens apart, welded them together and uses the monster in his garage to bake powdercoat. hehe. Seen it with my own eyes.

Now that's something else... uhhhhh.. ok..
I"ve used my cordless drill with a bristle brush before to clean out mason jars.. but the dishwasher to clean trike parts.. no.

Ohhh yeah. The dishwasher works great. I wish I could have kept my old one but the motor was gone so it wasn't worth keeping.
You can get powder coat kits to do small parts in your oven. Or rather an old oven you have outside.

I know where there is a commercial baking oven for 100.00 and frames would fit I might just add that as well. far as the fiancee she hates dishwashers so a garage one would be fine

Anyone bake powdercoat in the oven?
I just brought home an old GE kitchen oven for that exact purpose yesterday. Got it for fifty bucks. Good size too. Fits a Tri-Z swinger in there perfectly.

My Fiancee is pissed because she cant park in the garage. Now if i take the dishwasher too that would probably push her over the edge. Funny thing she asked me this morning.
Fiancee -----
" Why do we have 45 thousand dollars worth of new trucks and a two and half car garage and you park your 20 year old three wheelers in there and we are parking the trucks outside?" Does that make since to you"
KB----
"Your RIGHT!!! I never thought about it like that I need to get them in the house so we can park in there "
I wish I had a camera so you could have seen the look on her face:lol:
I cant wait to tell her I am taking over the dishwasher too.

I never tried the dishwasher thing, but I use Dawn to clean all my foam air filters, nothing better. You can also dry them in the clothes dryer, just toss them in there with an old towel, used to do this when we would race a GNCC on Sat and a local Cross country on Sunday. BUT!!!!!!! DO NOT try to dry an air filter in the microwave!!!! they melt.

yeah, my friends did that too, but at least his oven was old as hell to begin with...if you can find a good sized pizza oven they work good too, a guy up here has one and he uses it for car parts...

I managed to score 2 brand new dishwashers in the trash at a scratch and dent. One has a crack in the pump that I just siliconed....
They'll be great outdoor parts washers!!
I'm going to Louis's house for breakfast

My father inlaw has this in his garage.
I have a spare dishwasher. It's an under counter model. Can I just plug the intake and drain hoses and fill with cleaner? It just keeps recycling it? How do you clean the sand and sludge out after it builds up?

Definatly make sure your wife is gone I've done that. Nothing gets things cleaner than a dish washer.
