okay so i've been around 2-strokes all of my life and worked on them and whatnot.. but never really 4-strokes. i rode them and whatnot but i don't know a damn thing about'em.

so my question is, is the jetting the same really? like, if you're running lean do you just put a slightly bigger jet in then do a plug chop to see if down inside the plug is a golden brown?

thanks

That part is the same, but you have more factors that affect how the plug looks. Certain 4 strokes malfunctions cause excess buring of oil which makes a plug look "rich" even though it may not be a jetting problem or correction. If you know head, valaves, cam, top end and rings are in good shape, you use the same jetting procedure.
