If i sand my gas tank to the bare metal on my 250 big red will i have to treat the metal before i paint it?

You should though you don't have to. It will help the paint adhere much better.

You will DEFINETLY have to spray primer over your tank if you go down to the bare metal. If you didnt, the paint job would be a total mess

Make sure you have all the gas out of it, and don't cover the hole all the way.
You will have a ticking time bomb. So make sure you have the inside all dried out.

Ya, I just finished painting a tank. Turned out really nice, Make sure you prep it good and a primer is a must.
