Can anybody tell me if the 86 tri z 250 is supposed to have ball bearings on the top side and sealed bearings on the bottom? If this is the case, is it common for the front end to not stay tight. Mine seems to not tighten down far enough and as a result ends up loose after every ride. Help!

loose single bearings on the top and a taperd bearing on the bottom. dads has a all balls kit for the z witch is a sealed upper and taperd bottom.Witch is a awsome up grade! and no mine have never loosend up.

Yup I bought a kit from dads too, just haven't been able to install it yet. Anything is better then that crappy loose ball setup that is stock.
i think you can still get the upper balls/i think they are 17 thousandths in diameter and i think it takes 17 of them total.they are like 20 cents a piece. i think 200xs use the same size bearings.check . www.yamha-motor.com (http://www.yamha-motor.com)
they have all the info in thparts fish.mine dont loose up either.better fix it.
